I’m always somewhat at a loss for what to write for the very first post on a new blog. I’ve been blogging off and on for years across different platforms, but there is still a little hesitation at the beginning of something new.
I guess I’ll start by introducing myself ( or reintroducing myself, if you’ve known me awhile) and sharing a little bit about my life and the season we are in.

I am wife to Jacob and mama to three girls and one boy. Our life is just exactly the amount of chaotic joy you would imagine in a family that had three children in three years then took an eight year break before having another baby.
I am a homeschool graduate from a farming and ranching family in SE Texas. I will forever be grateful for the life my parents gave me and my six siblings. I met my sweetheart when I was twenty and married him when I was twenty-two.
After living in the city for the first ten years of our marriage, the Lord opened the doors and prepared a place for us in the country (I’ll share that story soon!) and we’ve been living out our dreams ever since.
Teenage me would be so happy with how things have turned out: I married a man who adores me and spoils me, we have four of the best kids we could ask for, I get to stay home and homeschool my babies, I have chickens and guineas and a goose named Albert, and we have our own little piece of heaven in the woods.
I’ve dabbled in a lot of things and hobbies over the years. Everything from having a handmade clothing shop on Etsy, making custom gowns for weddings, designing and publishing sewing patterns, having a small cottage bakery, learning to weave on a floor loom, spinning my own yarn, and too many other things to list here. But without a doubt, my favorite thing is just being Jacob’s wife and my children’s Mama. If that is all I am ever known to be, that is enough for me.
It is my hope that you find encouragement in what I share here–in whatever season of life you find yourself. I hope that you find inspiration and grace in what I write. I’m not perfect by any means or measure. I’m very much in the middle of still trying to figure things out. And I want to share what I’m learning in the middle of it all–being a Mom, our homeschool journey, marriage and relationships, living a life pleasing to the Lord, and making a house a home and a haven.
I hope to share a couple posts every month–let me know in the comments what topics you would like to see! You can find me on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube as well.
